New Episodes of The Bear Are Coming to Disney+ in 2024
Disney+ has announced that The Bear will return for a highly anticipated third season in 2024. The show, led by Jeremy Allen White, gained strong audience appeal and critical praise during its first two installments, prompting renewal and expansion on the streaming platform in collaboration with FX and Hulu.
“This series captured viewers from its debut and grew into a cultural touchstone by the second season”, FX Entertainment President Nick Grad explained in a media note shared with Disney+. The creative team, led by Christopher Storer with Joanna Calo, Josh Sr., and a dynamic cast including Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, delivered performances and production work that set new benchmarks. Disney+ and its partners at Hulu and FX are eager to see what the next chapter holds for The Bear.”
From coffee-fueled kitchens to Emmy recognition, Ayo Edebiri’s ascent as a standout supporting actor has been rapid and remarkable. The show’s first season earned a slate of nominations and wins, highlighting its blend of humor, sharp writing, and intimate character studies. The team has drawn praise for its writing, directing, production design, and the overall craft that elevates a simple sandwich shop into a vivid backdrop of ambition and human connection.
The inaugural season earned 13 Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series, with nods for performers such as Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, Jon Bernthal, and Oliver Platt. The program also secured accolades across best screenplay, directing, casting, production design, editing, and sound categories. It captured the American Film Institute’s top TV series honor and collected awards from the Writers Guild, Producers Guild, Film Independent Spirit Awards, and American Cinema Editors, among others. White himself went on to win Golden Globes, SAG, TCA, and Critics’ Choice honors for lead actor in a comedy series.
The second season follows Carmy Berzatto, played by White, as he, Sydney Adamu played by Edebiri, and Richard Jerimovich portrayed by Moss-Bachrach, navigate a transition from a run-down sandwich shop to a refined culinary destination. The crew undertakes a full restaurant renovation while confronting personal histories and deciding what kind of future each character wants. The season makes clear that opening a new restaurant can be as demanding as running one—if not more so.
“The Bear” is a study in kitchen chaos made beautiful. The creative team contends with permitting hurdles, supplier negotiations, and the energetic process of menu design. The move toward a new operating model pushes every staff member to collaborate in fresh ways, testing strengths and relationships as they learn to serve customers and each other with renewed purpose.
The show credits a strong collective effort: FX’s Christopher Storer as creator, with Joanna Calo and Hiro Murai among the executive producers. The supporting team includes Josh Sr. and Matty Matheson, along with Tyson Bidder who helped shepherd the project, all working under the FX Productions banner. The ongoing collaboration with Disney+ and Hulu continues to broaden the series’ impact and availability for audiences across North America.
