The participants from OT 2023 are nearing a potential new venture after their departure from the Academy. In addition to an upcoming tour across multiple Spanish cities, the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE) has extended a special invitation to the finalists of the current edition. They are set to collaborate on preparing and performing the anthems for the Spanish athletes who will compete on the world stage, with Paris 2024 serving as the focal point.
“This year marks an Olympic year, and Paris will welcome athletes from all corners of the country. COE proposes that the finalists craft a song to cheer on those representing Spain,” stated one of the show’s commentators during a recent conversation with the participants Paul, Naiara, Ruslana, Lucas, and Martin, along with Juanjo, earlier this week.
Additionally, Universal A&R executive Cris Moiron echoed the same sentiment, encouraging the finalists to embrace this rare opportunity presented by the Spanish Olympic Committee. He emphasized that such moments don’t arise every day and urged them to seize the moment and contribute their talents to a national project.
COE’s proposal envisions the finalists composing and performing a fresh national anthem that could unify and inspire Spain’s athletes. The plan outlines a July presence in Paris, with the possibility of the song accompanying the team throughout the Olympic journey. If finalized, the project would be a meaningful collaboration that connects music with sport and national pride, bringing together emerging musical voices with a historic athletic event.
The organization commented on X (formerly Twitter) that it would be a privilege to have the country’s rising musical talents contribute to a song project that could accompany Spain to Paris 2024, serving as a motivational beacon for the athletes and fans alike.
