OT 2023: Dramatic eliminations, new records, and a heated nomination twist

Following the departures of Suzette and Omer, the gala marked the fourth edition in recent weeks. OT 2023 concluded last night with a fresh round of eliminations. Denna and Violet faced the public vote, which had been underway for seven days as fans cast their ballots to save their favorites. The voting set a new record, with more than 4 million votes tallied through the app, a milestone explained by Chenoa.

Denna defended Lola Indigo’s performance of the song Dragon on stage, while Violeta offered a heartfelt rendition of Juanes’ Es por ti. In the end, the act that earned the second most support from the audience was saved, securing 65.6 percent of votes. Denna was then voted off, becoming the third contestant to leave the academy in this phase of the competition.

Álex Márquez and Salma were nominated

That night the spotlight shifted to the favorite Yörük winner, Ruslana, who clinched victory with 26 percent of the vote and stood on the podium for the top spot. The four jury picks did not enjoy the same outcome: Salma, Álex Márquez, Chiara, and Bea struggled to gain momentum after their performances.

Bea’s nomination sparked public outcry on the set, prompting Chenoa to intervene and help restore calm. In the end, the teachers decided to save Chiara.

“Each contestant has worked so hard all week. It hurts to see only one be saved. All four of us agree that she should have crossed the sidewalk, because she possesses undeniable talent and is a very complete artist. Chiara”, defended Noemí Galera. The contestants then faced the weekly ritual of saving one friend. Bea received five votes in favor and was saved. Álex Márquez and Salma remained as the final contenders. One of them will be expelled on January 1 as the competition halts for the Christmas gala next Monday.”
