Kansas City resident Angelina Wylie, a 22-year-old, says Kim Kardashian’s Skims bodysuit played a life saving role after a gunshot wound, a claim she shared publicly and which quickly gained attention online.
The story emerged in a video she posted to TikTok, recorded in May, and it has since gained traction as viewers revisited it across social feeds.
“Kim Kardashian saved my life. On the night I was shot, I wore a Skims contouring bodysuit under my dress. It was so intense that it appeared to staunch the bleeding. I would recommend this to others. I plan to buy more and wear it every day. It feels like body armor for women,” Wylie explained in the clip.
Kardashian herself acknowledged the moment by reacting to the video on social media, turning a personal claim into a moment of public surprise.
Wylie describes the incident as taking place in Kansas City on New Year’s Day. She says she sustained four gunshot wounds while waiting for a ride after a gathering with friends. During this ordeal, she was wearing the SKIMS Sculpt Thong Bodysuit beneath her outfit, which she says made a noticeable difference at a critical moment.
It remains unclear whether the bodysuit contributed to the outcome of the injuries, and Yahoo! notes that such apparel is not medically approved as a lifesaving device.
