Dreams of Freedom: A New Atresmedia Series Debut in Early Spring

During a television appearance, Alain Hernández and Natalia Sánchez discussed a new original series set to replace the ongoing program Love is Forever on the main Atresmedia network. The forthcoming title promises a fresh narrative line and a bold shift in the network’s daily schedule.

Starting next Sunday, February 25, viewers can tune in from 10:00 PM. The first episode will arrive then, with daily episodes following on Monday, February 26, in the time slot previously occupied by Love is Eternal, at 15:45 each afternoon.

The series centers on the era of Spain in 1958 and follows the life of Begoña Montes, a woman who finds herself trapped in a toxic marriage yet remains determined to reclaim her freedom. Her resilience and hopeful outlook drive the dramatic arc as she navigates personal and social obstacles in a constrained society.

The cast for Dreams of Freedom includes Natalia Sánchez, Alain Hernández, and Dani Tatay in leading roles. Supporting performances feature Nancho Novo, Ana Fernández, Roser Tapias, Marta Belmonte, Javier Beltrán, Agnés Llobet, Daniel Albaladejo, Juan Gea, Alba Brunet, Guillermo Barrientos, Carolina Lapausa, Alejandra Meco, Antonio Romero, Isabel Moreno, José Milan, Candela Cruz, Amanda Cárdenas, and Pablo Béjar, contributing a broad ensemble to the series’ storytelling.

How Dreams of Freedom opens

In the opening sequence, Begoña Montes escapes through a forest with her stepdaughter, Julia. She has just become the wife of Jesús de la Reina, a prominent regional figure whose wealth stems from Perfumerías de la Reina, a leading cosmetics company. The pursuit begins as Begoña holds fast to the plan of a new life away from a brutal marriage.

The pursuit intensifies when Jesús confronts them in the forest. Shots are fired as the tension peaks. The narrative raises questions about the motives behind the violent act and the consequences for Begoña and those around her, inviting viewers to consider the dynamics of power, fear, and autonomy in a restrictive era.
