He added that his role brings a direct connection to the social history figures featured on screen.
Pelayo Diaz will also take part, focusing on fashion and trends. He described his role as a platform to share opinions, inform audiences about what people actually want, and enjoy the ride together. Other trusted names joining the field include Josemi Rodríguez Sieiro, Rosa Villacastín, Alba Carrillo, Susana Jurado, Jorge Borrajo, Ángela Mora, Andrea Rosa del Pino, Marina Bernal, and Eduardo Alvarez among others.
The program will also feature the expertise of celebrity stylists who will dissect trends and talk through the most striking looks worn by public figures. Names such as Anitta Ruiz and Paloma González are noted for bringing professional fashion insight to the mix.
“It will be a very agile program”
Each Saturday and Sunday, Igartiburu and González will review the week’s social news in a lively, accessible tone, inviting the audience to share the spotlight with the week’s most important personalities. The show will broadcast live as it keeps a close eye on events, balancing immediacy with thoughtful commentary over a long-running run that has stood for over a quarter of a century.
The presentation in Torrespaña highlighted strategic goals for D Corazón XXL. María Eizagurre, the RTVE Director of Communications and Engagement, described the format as renewed and enhanced, designed to give audiences more time to enjoy the news and keep a place on RTVE. The shift signals a stronger weekend presence and a clearer emphasis on direct engagement with current events.
Ana María Bordas, RTVE’s Director of Original Content, explained that the team had long considered a more direct weekend format. The project offered an opportunity to work with the familiar faces of Igartiburu and González, promising a lively and entertaining program with a social backdrop intended to captivate a broad audience.
Eva Hernández, the program’s director, outlined the ambition to create more space for viewers to savor the news, maintain a positive vibe, and deliver a fresh, entertaining experience. The aim is to offer relaxing, fun television that still informs and resonates with real life.
Igartiburu emphasized that the show remains rooted in the same Corazón team that helped build a strong social history tradition on public television. The team is prepared to bring that same energy, thoroughness, and warmth to this new stage, with González aboard and ready to contribute his own perspective and humor to the mix.
