China angered by Gucci and adidas selling ‘useless’ umbrella for $1,600

The Chinese are dissatisfied with the expensive but also “useless” umbrella of the Gucci x adidas collaboration. This has been reported from the inside.

Italian fashion house Gucci and German brand adidas presented a joint collection that includes an umbrella worth $1,290. It is decorated with recognizable emblems of both brands – green and red stripes and shamrock, and the handle is made in the form of the Latin letter “G”. It is stated that the accessory is made of waterproof material and therefore will not save you from the rain. It is recommended to be used both for protection from the scorching sun and for decorative purposes.

In China, the umbrella was called “useless”. Users of the Weibo platform were outraged that an accessory with minimal functionality was sold to them for an even higher price ($1,600). The relevant hashtag hit the trends and gained hundreds of millions of views. “This is a loud but useless fashion statement,” the Chinese write, “They can’t make me pay for it as long as I’m poor.”

Formerly Jacquemus brand announced Launch of a joint collection with Nike.
