An acclaimed author returns to the Maestral Literary Evenings organized by Vectalia, presenting a recently recognized novel that earned the Nadal Award in 2023. This literary-gastronomic event unfolds this Friday, drawing readers into a night of storytelling and taste.

The evening features a writer who has been a finalist for major literary prizes in recent years. Attendees will encounter a novel that delves into the edges of love, inviting a profound exploration of the human heart. It traces a journey into the soul of a woman who navigates a sincere, imaginative, and ultimately dangerous utopia. The work sits at the intersection of loneliness, affection, mortality, and the imperative to embrace life with genuine pleasure. At the close of the meal, a journalist from a respected Alicante newspaper will be present to sign copies for guests.

Themed menu and wine

The tasting menu crafted for the evening by the Maestral kitchen team takes inspiration from the novel Los besos. The author attended this very event in October 2021, and the menu opens with a homemade escabeche pastry, followed by rock and canned mussels. A salmon tartare and a grilled octopus lead into the main course.

The centerpiece dish is Spaghetti all’Amatriciana with veal cheek, paired with Somontano wine. A finale of nougat tiramisu with Madagascar vanilla ice cream crowns the meal. A wine from the Mediterrenian Cesilia collection, offered by Casa Sicilia 1707 Winery, accompanies the evening.

The best pairing of gastronomy, wine, and literature begins at 20:30 on Friday, March 10, in the main dining room. A bottle of Cesilia wine is presented as a guest gift, and the evening price is set at 40 Euros per person.
