This Saturday, a special cinema event unfolds under the banner Vamos Todos a Cine Yelmo, a collaborative effort organized through the Solidarity Card program. The initiative brings together Cine Yelmo’s network of 52 cinemas across Spain to serve a social mission: engaging more than 6,000 people facing social exclusion. The effort is supported by over a hundred associations and NGOs from across the country, including partners in the province of Alicante where screenings will be available at Yelmo Puerta de Alicante and Yelmo Vinalopó Cinemas. The cooperative effort is coordinated with the Red Cross, CODIS, CEE Miguel de Cervantes, and Asprodis, ensuring a broad and inclusive reach.
Attendees will not only enjoy the film on the big screen but will also be treated to a full cinema experience with popcorn, drinks, desserts, and chocolates. The feature tells a story about friendship and connection—between Vicky and a wolf, and more broadly between humans and the natural world—featuring compelling performances by Denis Imbert and Shanna Keill. This bookend to the screening aims to be a memorable afternoon that resonates with audiences of all ages, inviting viewers to reflect on community, care, and companionship.
For the first time, Cine Yelmo is coordinating a nationwide simultaneous screening across all its cinemas in Spain. The objective is clear: extend the cinema experience to those who are most vulnerable, ranging from children to the elderly and anyone experiencing social risk. The initiative is designed to maximize accessibility and celebrate cinema as a shared, uplifting activity that brings people together regardless of circumstances.
Cine Yelmo reaffirms this Vamos Todos a Cine Yelmo program by mobilizing employees who donate their time and expertise to bridge the gap between cinema access and social inclusion. The effort relies on the generosity and dedication of staff, volunteers, and partner organizations, all working in concert to provide a warm, welcoming environment where audiences can reconnect with the magic of storytelling on film. With this approach, more than 6,000 spectators from participating NGOs and associations will have the opportunity to experience Cine Yelmo as a meaningful, communal ritual rather than a solitary activity.
