UB40 feat. Ali Campbell: Monday, August 8, 2022 – 20:00.
Success arrived in 1984 with the now-iconic Red Red Wine. UB40 originated in Birmingham, United Kingdom, in 1978. The group soared to fame in 1984 with Red Red Wine, a Neil Diamond cover, which later returned to the top of the charts. In 1988 a memorial concert recounted its enduring appeal, and the band continued to shape pop and reggae-infused rock through the 1990s with hits that resonated in films and soundtracks. Their catalog includes the enduring anthem I Can’t Help Falling in Love, and their tracks have appeared in prominent films and television soundtracks, reinforcing their global reach.
The ensemble has sold more than 30 million records. UB40 even ventured into cinema with a musical project, and their later work featured as the main theme in notable cinema productions. Their sound draws from Jamaican-inflected reggae rhythms and classic pop hooks, creating a bridge between generations. They have inspired artists across genres, and their songs have been performed by artists such as Van Morrison and Neil Diamond, among others, cementing their status in modern musical history.
Kool & The Gang: Wednesday, August 10, 2022 – 20:00.
Kool & the Gang, a cornerstone of funk and soul, marked the music of the 70s and 80s with a lasting impact. The group has moved millions of records worldwide and remains a driving force on the dance floor with timeless hits. Celebrated songs include Celebrate, Jungle Boogie, and Get Down on It, which have left a lasting imprint on popular culture, featured in film soundtracks and iconic moments in music history. Over the years, Kool & the Gang has earned multiple Grammys and American Music Awards, underscoring their enduring influence in R&B and funk scenes.
Often cited as one of the all-time great live performers, Kool & the Gang has maintained a remarkable run for decades, earning numerous Gold and Platinum records and multiple top ten positions. Their continued evolution keeps audiences moving, singing, and dancing to classic grooves that define entire eras of party music. Their presence promises a night of high-energy celebration and sing-along anthems that span generations.
Tony Hadley, ex Spandau Ballet: Friday 12 August 2022 – 20:00.
In 2006, Hadley released a swing-influenced project titled Passing Strangers. Anthony Patrick Hadley, a key member of Spandau Ballet, pursued a solo career after the group disbanded in 1990. He joined the touring circuit in the late 1990s, performing as part of the Night of the Proms alongside renowned artists and a full orchestra, delivering classics such as Gold, Right, and Through the Barricades.
Five years later, Hadley produced a self-titled album featuring many of his favorite songs alongside new material written for his daughter. The following live set, Obsession, released in 2000, showcased his signature voice and his continued commitment to pop and rock staples, including tracks like Under the Bridge and Walking in Memphis in new arrangements. The cover art stirred conversation, reflecting the fan-driven energy behind his live performances.
In 2006 he fulfilled another wish by recording a swing album called Passing Strangers, released under Curb Records. It revisited beloved songs from his youth, performed with a fresh, vibrant approach. Hadley has since maintained a global touring schedule, bringing his expansive catalog to audiences worldwide.
