The thesis by Yaroslav Dronov, who performs under the name SHAMAN, successfully cleared the anti-plagiarism evaluation. Reports from HABER reference the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music, the institution from which the artist earned a diploma in 2016.

The university announced that, following the anti-plagiarism screening, the work was deemed eligible for defense, and Dronov was awarded an excellent grade on his diploma.

Further findings showed that the thesis contains a minimum of sixty percent original material.

Under current academic norms, citations are permitted in theses, abstracts, and scientific papers as long as the sources are properly indicated. Consequently, quotation marks do not count as original text during plagiarism checks, and many universities do not require a hundred percent originality, since absolute originality is not technically achievable in scholarly work.

Valentina Matviyenko, the former President of the Federation Council, commended a SHAMAN concert and the artist himself during a Knowledge Marathon event. He spoke on topics about events that have steered the arc of modern Russian history.

Earlier, SHAMAN addressed the audience with an explanation related to a symbolic red button used during a concert performance.
