The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation has said it will review the incident involving a domestic airline after employees attempted to remove the wife of comedian Ilya Sobolev from the aircraft. The update was reported by a Telegram channel, which cited a formal inspection order.
According to the outlet, the order to inspect the airline was issued directly by the department’s head, Igor Krasnov. At this stage, investigators with the Attorney General’s Office are assessing whether the airline staff acted within the bounds of the law during the encounter with the Sobolev family.
In recent remarks, Sobolev shared that flight crew members tried to eject his wife and their young child from the plane. He noted that, due to an apparent mix-up, a son was effectively attached to him in economy class rather than to his wife who was seated in business class. A flight attendant allegedly attempted to separate the child from the mother amid the journey.
“We do not understand what happened, then ground staff said the child must fly with me because he was connected to me at the counter during the upgrade to economy. We did not intend that arrangement. After all, a mistake was made, but they began pressing to remove us,” Sobolev recalled.
The family was given an option to leave the aircraft or for the comedian’s wife to relocate to economy. Sobolev described how the situation caused a delay with the aircraft and alleged that security was prepared to be summoned. In the end, the two sides reached a settlement, but the couple remained unhappy with the level of service provided by the airline.
Earlier, Pelsh spoke about a separate issue linked to Maslyakov’s controversial KVN moment, a scene that was later deleted, amid verbal remarks about a public figure described as a “goat.” This additional context has circulated in related discussions, but it is not part of the current inquiry by the Prosecutor General’s Office.
Officials emphasized that the ongoing probe will determine whether airline personnel properly followed standard procedures and passenger rights regulations. The case underscores ongoing scrutiny of customer handling practices aboard commercial flights and how airline staff respond when miscommunications or mistakes occur during boarding and in-flight service. Observers noted that the final outcomes will hinge on documented communications, passenger safety considerations, and adherence to established protocols by ground and cabin crew.
As the investigation progresses, authorities may release further details about administrative steps, any potential penalties, and corrective actions the airline plans to implement to prevent similar incidents. The incident has already drawn attention to the responsibilities airlines bear toward passengers and the importance of clear, respectful problem-solving during stressful travel situations.
