Alicante hosts the opening days of Kapsulab, a gathering that becomes a hub for exchanging perspectives, experiences, and forecasts about the future of art, creativity, and culture through collaborative reflection. The event draws inspiration from the most innovative and groundbreaking projects currently developing in the region, inviting participants to explore new ideas and practical outcomes.

Kapsulab will unfold on Thursday, December 14 and Friday, December 15 across two venues. The TerretUp collaboration runs from 08:30 to 14:30, featuring presentations and roundtables, while the Water Museum hosts the afternoon sessions from 17:30 to 20:00 with hands-on workshops. A live online stream will extend access to those who cannot attend in person.

Each day opens with an invigorating keynote, followed by two themed sessions that weave together threads about culture and the future. Light and shadow serve as a guiding motif as topics span the role of artificial intelligence in creative practice, the expansion of community spaces to nurture creativity, new narrative forms and formats, metadata driven transmedia universes, emotional engagement and audience experience, digital emotion maps, and artistic experiments. Following the talks, the space invites public participation and dialogue, with time allocated for attendees to join the discussion and share ideas in a relaxed, social setting at Mon anem, a venue where conversations flow as freely as the beverages on offer.

Kapsulab embodies a collaborative experiment designed to dismantle the traditional lecture format and actively involve attendees who can contribute their reflections and pose questions directly to speakers. The atmosphere encourages spontaneity and co-creation, turning spectators into co-architects of the conversation.

In the afternoon, at the Aguas Museum, various cultural nodes across Alicante will present their spaces and capabilities. Thursday will feature digital sculpture workshops led by visual artist Manel Bafaluy. Friday will host a workshop on 3D printing and video mapping led by the MakinAcción innovation team, headed by expert Francisco Picazo. Beyond a single event, Kapsulab functions as an artistic project with a future-time capsule component, envisioning a digital sculpture produced collaboratively during the workshops. The project had previously been selected in the 2023 public subsidy call for cultural and artistic initiatives sponsored by the Ministry of Culture of Alicante and is organized by a creative agency specializing in storytelling and MakinAcción transmedia strategies.
