Festival Magical Nights has announced a substantial portion of its 2023 performance lineup, set to unfold at Jardines de Abril in Sant Joan d’Alacant from July 27 to August 13. Following a sold-out surge—about 90% of the tickets sold in the previous edition—the organizers note that the festival has established itself as one of the most influential national music events of the eighties era, drawing fans from across Canada, the United States, and beyond.
Locally celebrated artists are joined by national acts such as Raphael, Luz Casal, Ara Malikian, Faemino, Goyo Jiménez, and the Sevillanas classic Siempre como así. These names are among the confirmed performers for Sant Joan’s outdoor venue, with further confirmations expected as the festival approaches its fourteen magical nights.

Luz Casal will present new material while revisiting the greatest hits from her expansive career. Her latest release, “Ventanas de mi alma,” marks her first new album in five years and stands as the most autobiographical project of her journey. Casal’s voice travels through bolero rhythms and rock tempo, flirting with timeless sounds and revealing fresh nuances. With a storied and globally recognized career, she is celebrated as a pioneer of Spanish rock and a symbol of artistic independence that has shaped her influence across generations.
Exceptional violinist Ara Malikian will take the festival stage for the first time, presenting his World Tour. Malikian explains that the tour stems from witnessing his son grow up: “If you care for a child, you understand almost everything about who you are, and it’s been a long time since I’ve allowed that to guide me. This tour reflects my growth, inspired by him and by all those who have shaped life through him and those sounds and melodies that define it.”
Comedian Goyo Jiménez will again bring his surreal, witty, and sharply humorous show to the Magic Night stage. The performance blends playful satire and clever banter, offering audiences a ride through contemporary observation and punchlines.
Goyo Jiménez is a renowned creator known for television collaborations and especially for his stand-up work. His long career—academic and professional—has made him a household name on the national stage.
Representatives of Andalusian popular music will showcase, once again, a celebration of thirty years. The repertoire spans multiple albums and countless concerts across Spain and Latin America, with a characteristic rumba that keeps flamenco roots intact and carries a bright, southern message. This music remains a staple at festive gatherings, filling major theaters and resonating with diverse audiences. Their catalog includes enduring hits such as Siempre como así and a flamenco-inspired interpretation of My Way, which continues to captivate fans across generations.
Another highlight is the legendary Spanish pop band founded in Madrid in the early 1980s, renowned for a string of emotional releases. Their latest stage show features a selection of the most requested formats from recent years, including the timeless Classics alongside newer material that has earned a devoted following. The band’s energy is infectious, delivering an upbeat performance that culminates in a vibrant 80s-inspired Summer Party close to the show.
The comedy duo will present their Reloaded show, a 17-time revisitation described by the artists as a refreshed, evolved, and extended version. This rendition of a beloved act has been revised and reimagined to keep the jokes sharp and the timing precise. Audiences can expect the familiar humor refreshed with new lines and visual gags, all part of a celebration that has kept fans laughing for over three decades. The duo’s stage presence and seasonal flair promise a lively, unforgettable night.
The living legend of melodic song returns with a brand-new album titled Victory, crafted in collaboration with a noted producer and recorded at a historic studio. The collection includes signature pieces that have long defined the artist’s repertoire and several new songs poised to become future classics. The tour will span across Spain, bringing favorites like My Big Night and How I Love You to the forefront once again as audiences relive decades of musical impact.
On March 25, Noches Mágicas will host a Solidarity Party at Jardines de Abril to support five Alicante-based associations: Apsa, Apnea, Nuevo Futuro Alicante, Amigos de Ukraine Alicante, and Proyecto Lázaro. The charity evening will feature surprises, a second charity bingo with prizes from local businesses in live music, DJ sets, performances, and gastronomy, all in support of diverse community initiatives. It is a special addition to the festival, underscoring a commitment to giving back to the region.
