The Alicante Main Theater Choir (CTPA) plans to expand its ensemble with new members. An audition day is scheduled for January 20 at the Alicante arena. Registration is available through the choir’s official site: (auditions page).
Main Choir premieres “Elementos”
Leading the project is Marchu Lorente, a graduate in choreography and interpretation, along with Luis Segui, a music director with a diploma in piano and orchestral conducting, and Christian Lindsay, who holds degrees in vocal management and music and vocal performance from Ohio University. Lorente notes that forming the chorus centers on a strong personal commitment to one’s voice and a vigorous onstage presence. The goal is to push choral performance beyond singing alone, integrating movement and stage interpretation. The vision is to convey the body as part of the vocal expression, creating a more complete, embodied performance.
since 2018
Alicante Chief Theater Choir began in early 2018 with the idea of cultivating a new choral culture in Alicante. Its purpose is to fuse choral music with stage composition, supported by a talented ensemble capable of performing a wide range of musical styles with striking staging. The group serves the city of Alicante and nearby towns such as Benidorm, Elche, Novelda, San Vicente, and Elda.
The company also produces original works where the choir takes center stage, creating performances focused on vocal and stage development. Collaborations with other productions are welcomed, always guided by professionalism and adaptability to rental requirements.
Since its inception, the Alicante Main Theater Choir has become an essential part of the city’s cultural life. Its productions, including Opera On, showcase innovative staging that blends vocal passion with light design and scenic movement to portray deep human emotions across classic operatic narratives.
Symphonic music and Christmas carols as the beginning of Christmas in Alicante
The company has also presented Elements, a journey through a diverse repertoire of choral music that blends multiple styles and authors. The performance traces the four elements earth, water, air, and fire, emphasizing sound as a primal force.
Rehearsals for the chorus take place every Thursday from 19:00 to 22:00 in the Núria Espert rehearsal room at the Alicante Teatro Director’s. While extra stage rehearsals may occur on Saturdays or Sundays, prior notice for those days is requested.
Participation does not require a registration fee. As a non-profit association, members do not receive financial compensation for their involvement.
