The erotic thriller Babygirl (“Bad Girl”, “Baby”) received a seven-minute ovation at its premiere at the Venice Film Festival. This was reported by Deadline.
The event was attended by Nicole Kidman, Antonio Banderas, Sophie Wilde, Harris Dickinson and director Halina Rein, who stars in the film. The applause stopped only when the film crew left the hall.
The plot of “Bad Girl” is about the general manager of a large company (Kidman). A woman risks her entire life when she begins a stormy romance with a young intern. The film was produced by A24 studio (“Reincarnation”, “Everything Everywhere at Once”, “Ex Machina”, etc.).
The film has already received high marks from critics and has received a rating of 82. Metacritic and 90% “freshness” Rotten Tomatoes.
Before Kidman acceptedKidman, who was afraid to watch “Bad Girl” because of the overly explicit scenes with herself, said her role in the film was different from any she’s played in her 40-year career. She added that viewers around the world will see things they usually “keep on home video.”
