Activision has launched the first phase of the open beta test of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s multiplayer mode, available to pre-orders of the game and Game Pass subscribers. The portal reports DTF.
Testers will be able to earn a number of in-game rewards, including a loading screen, an animated emblem, two character skins, and a weapon blueprint. Activision notes that testers will be the first to try out the innovative Omnimovement system, which provides more natural and realistic character movement in all directions, reminiscent of what many players jumped out of Max Payne.
The first phase of the test will run until September 4. The Black Ops 6 client is available for download on PC via Steam, Microsoft Store, and Battle.net. As part of this phase, players will be offered six maps: Derelict, SCUD, Skyline, Rewind, Pit, and Gala. The second phase of the test will run from September 4-9 and will be open to everyone.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is an upcoming shooter from Treyarch and Raven Software, and is a direct sequel to 2020’s Black Ops Cold War. The game is scheduled to release on October 25, 2024, for Windows, PlayStation 4 and 5, as well as Xbox One and Series X/S. The game will also be available for free to Game Pass subscribers on PC and Xbox on day one of release.
