Director Yuri Moroz said in an interview with socialbites.ca that parents are responsible for their children at any age, because it is they who partially shape the child’s behavior through upbringing.
“As Exupery wrote: “We are responsible for those we have tamed.” This is a very individual thing. I don’t judge anyone. But of course I believe that we are responsible for our children. <...> The relationship between, say, a father and his daughter shapes her future relationships with her future boyfriends and husband. Since we have such a strong influence on children, it seems to me that we are responsible for them,” said the director.
Moroz emphasized that he does not view parents’ advice for older children as intervention.
“For example, if a person has maintained a normal relationship with his mother or father, he asks them some questions – I believe that parents can express their opinion, leaving more decisions to the child. “This is his life anyway, so you can’t say, ‘No, you have to come here,'” he explained.
