The thesis of Yaroslav Dronov, known under the pseudonym SHAMAN, successfully passed the anti-plagiarism check. This was reported by HABER.rurefers to the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music, from which the artist graduated in 2016.
The university stated that after an anti-plagiarism check, the artist’s work was allowed to be defended, and Dronov received an “excellent” grade on his diploma.

According to modern academic rules, citations are allowed in theses, abstracts or scientific articles, indicating the source. Therefore, the anti-plagiarism system does not accept quotations as original text during checking. Therefore, universities do not require 100% originality when using an anti-plagiarism system because this is technically impossible.
