A virtual tour of the exhibition is also available in the fish market hall, along with a 3D drive through of the Alicante Main Theatre. The publication serves as a bridge between the building’s past and its present role in Alicante’s cultural life, offering a detailed journey through its history and programming since its inception in 1847.
The volume highlights key moments from the theater world, including a tribute to the directors marking the 175th anniversary. Notable figures in attendance include actors and singers such as Aitana Sánchez-Gijón, Nuria Espert, Carlos Sobera, Ana Torrent, Miguel Rellán, Ana Milán, Montserrat Martí, Nacho León, and Loles León, alongside architect Alfonso Navarro and the insightful Juanjo Llorens. The catalog also provides access to performance diaries that span from 1847 to 1962, and a link to theater programs through the years.
The catalog opens with a plan of the exhibition’s numbered spaces and images for each section, covering topics like advertisement, history, architecture and city, Performance Diaries as a timeline, Publications and Research, and Teatro Principal as Alicante’s cultural pillar, including a statement from the theater troupe. The collection includes 119 written texts and more than twenty audiovisual presentations.
The book continues with a titled chapter called Main Theater Sights, which adds further valuable contributions.
