Irish actor Liam Neeson has publicly criticized his compatriot UFC fighter Conor McGregor, accusing him of embarrassing Ireland, Variety reported.
McGregor is one of the highest paid athletes in the world and the first UFC fighter to hold a UFC championship in two weight divisions simultaneously. But according to Neeson, McGregor’s public reputation is harming his homeland.
Talking about the athlete, the hostage and Schindler’s List star turned to insults, calling McGregor a “little leprechaun”.
“I can’t stand the UFC because of its unjust brutality and the need for people to fight each other. Yes, athletes are doing their best and are in good physical shape – that’s respect. But McGregor is a disgrace to Ireland, I can’t stand him,” Neson said.
