He is known for his direction as an illustrator and also a musician. When did your literary profession awaken in you?

I don’t consider myself a writer. I write, yes, but I do not devote my time to music or illustration, for example, these are the ways of making my living. But I always wrote. I remember always writing articles on great themes in school and taking it very seriously.

what are you looking for inside literature that he couldn’t find in his other two passions?

I do not separate one thing from another. They end up being the same: Ways of capturing what I dreamed of. I always say that I am more of an inventor than an artist. I invent things: drawings, paintings, stories, songs, sculptures, it doesn’t matter. As a teenager I invented an abbreviation to describe it: ECP (Permanent State of Creation). I used to tell myself that I shouldn’t go to sleep without creating something that didn’t exist yesterday. He even made me some business cards that read “Alejandro Blasi: The Dreamer.” I’ve always been a very cheeky shy.

The only book published to date is from fifteen years ago.

wonder treeReleased in Argentina in 2006. It consists of 48 short stories ranging from fantasy to crazy. The plot is as follows: in a dream I encounter a huge and enormous tree with strange fruits. I spent my whole dream picking those berries and each one is one of the stories that made it up. A book that gives me great satisfaction, including winning the 1st Mallorca Fantasy Award and the Balearic Islands National Festival of Fantasy and Science Fiction in 2008.

Why did you decide to enter this Zenda Libros literary competition?

I found out about the offer by accident and I had a short story that I thought might be useful because of its theme. The competition was named stories of the future and frankly it was supposed to be a science fiction story. I sent it and of course I forgot. I was particularly surprised when I received the email saying that I had won the second prize for being selected from over a thousand stories. [1.045]. I still can not believe it. This is a great pleasure. In addition to a cash reward that never hurt, it’s a generous encouragement that I’m grateful for.

What can you say about the story sent to the competition?

I imagine a very distant future (set in the year 3127) where artists are faced with the dilemma of creating something truly original, given that they have all of human history behind them.
