The Yerevan Brandy Factory, which operates under the ownership of the French group Pernod Ricard, did not halt the distribution of Ararat brandy to Russia. This stance has been echoed by Interfax, citing a source within the organization who confirmed that shipments continued despite rumors to the contrary.
In response, a representative stated that the claim regarding the suspension of Armenian Agri cognac exports to Russia is inaccurate. The spokesman indicated that Pernod Ricard had not announced any halt to business operations in the Russian market, and clarified that the supposed suspension should be interpreted as a change in the status of the Russian partner PR Rouss within the country, rather than a blanket halt on exports.
Vahan Kerobyan, who formerly led Armenia’s Ministry of Economy, noted that the Yerevan Brandy Factory, which is part of Pernod Ricard, had not formally declared an end to exports to Russia. He emphasized that the information circulating at the moment lacks official confirmation. Kerobyan added that such rumors could complicate the grape procurement process and disrupt supply chains that support brandy production in the region.
