Russians may not receive reimbursements for housing and communal services expenses. An expert from the Popular Front shared this warning, underscoring the limits of eligibility. The report, authored by Analytics’ Irina Blinkova for RIA News, frames the issue with clarity and context.
The expert also clarified that compensation cannot be awarded unless the applicant fits within the defined category of individuals entitled to reimbursement of expenses. Those seeking payment can submit documents to social security offices, through the unified portal of State Services, or at multipurpose centers (MFC) across the country.
Earlier, the government explained what housing and communal services fees are intended to fund. Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin stressed that entities delivering housing and communal services should direct funds primarily toward upgrading infrastructure and networks as part of investment programs, not toward inflated salaries or luxury vehicles. He added that the Council of Ministers will diligently monitor adherence to these investment programs within the public services sector.
Regions where pay levels have been notably high and how this relates to subsidy distribution were once a matter of public discussion, illustrating regional variations in compensation and funding priorities across the federation.
