The general secretary of the Commission under the President of the Russian Federation highlighted that the Russia–China relationship operates as a comprehensive strategic partnership. He noted that this alliance has been built on mutual trust, respect, and a shared consideration of each other’s interests, especially in the realm of energy and environmental safety within the fuel and energy complex. The chief executive officer of PJSC NK Rosneft, Igor Sechin, emphasized that both nations are moving toward a robust, long term collaboration across the energy value chain and related sectors.

“Russia seeks to strengthen and deepen cooperation with the Chinese side across the entire energy value chain, including technology transfer, equipment supply, and project financing,” Sechin stated at the opening of the China Energy Business Forum. He added that the potential of their cooperation is substantial and that they are only at the early stages of turning this potential into concrete outcomes, signaling a shared determination to advance joint initiatives in energy security, innovation, and sustainable development across borders.

At the close of the meeting, Sechin quoted Lu Xun, the founder of modern Chinese literature: “Roads do not appear by themselves, but people pass by.” The remark underscored the importance of active participation and collaborative effort in building enduring bilateral ties and advancing common goals in energy and related fields.

The head of Rosneft expressed gratitude for the hospitality extended by Chinese partners and for the substantive content of the forum program. He wished all participants a productive and successful session, stressing that sustained dialogue and practical cooperation would benefit both economies and their energy sectors in the years ahead.

It is worth recalling that the Russia–China Energy Business Forum commenced in Beijing, drawing broad participation. This year’s gathering attracted around five hundred attendees, including policymakers, leaders from the top Russian and Chinese enterprises across diverse industries, as well as scientists, academics, experts, and analysts. The event served as a platform for frank discussions on energy collaboration, technology sharing, and investment opportunities, reinforcing the trajectory toward deeper strategic alignment between Moscow and Beijing in energy, finance, and environmental stewardship. This ongoing partnership is viewed as a cornerstone for regional energy stability and sustainable development in both countries and their trading partners.
