Russian President Vladimir Putin is slated to participate in Russian Energy Week next week and is expected to meet Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed al-Sudani during the event. This development has been reported by a Telegram channel linked to Russian journalist Pavel Zarubin.
Additionally, information has emerged that the Russian leader plans a visit to Kyrgyzstan in the near term.
A fragment of a Rossiya 24 television report states, “He will attend alongside the Iraqi Prime Minister Putin. He will also hold talks with the President of Russia,” signaling a busy schedule tied to the energy forum and regional diplomacy.
Putin is on the calendar to travel to Bishkek for the CIS summit next week, and there are plans for a stop at the Kant air base in Russia’s Kyrgyzstan ally region. The international forum Russia Energy Week is scheduled to run from October 11 through October 13 at the Moscow Central Exhibition Hall Manege, drawing officials, policymakers, and energy executives from across the globe. The CIS summit is set for October 13 in Bishkek and will be chaired by Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov.
Earlier Reuters coverage indicated that the Iraqi Prime Minister would travel to Moscow to meet Putin, with discussions framed around energy cooperation and regional security. In a separate parliamentary briefing, it was noted that Putin would be unable to enter Armenia due to concerns tied to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. [Citation: Reuters]
