According to the company’s press service, MTS introduced the “One Number” feature in the Moscow region, enabling subscribers to receive and place autonomous calls from smart watches equipped with eSIM, using the same number that appears on their smartphone. The innovation allows seamless connectivity from the watch while the phone remains out of reach, broadening everyday use cases and ensuring continuity in communication.

Users can connect their watch to the ecosystem website remotely, removing the need to visit a physical store. This streamlined setup reflects a growing trend toward frictionless device integration, where consumers can manage connections and services from the comfort of home or on the go.

In addition, subscribers will have the option to access voice services using smart watches under their mobile number, without the necessity of having the smartphone nearby. This expands the flexibility of how and where calls can be made and received, aligning with modern mobile lifestyles that blend wearables with traditional cellular services.

“By pairing a smartwatch with an eSIM that shares the smartphone number, an MTS subscriber remains reachable even if the phone is forgotten at home, left during a jog, or temporarily not in hand at a store. Importantly, incoming calls continue to come through on the usual number, and when calls are placed from the watch, the recipient will see the same number that they would expect from a call made on the smartphone,” explained MTS Mass Market, emphasizing the unified identity across devices.

The company noted that, at that time, the service was on track to expand to private customers across additional regions, aiming for broader regional availability in the near term. The rollout strategy reflects a broader push toward multi-device ecosystems where wearables operate as credible, independent communication endpoints while preserving the core user experience of the primary mobile line.
