The Ostrov residential complex, developed by Donstroy, has earned Green Zoom certification for its blocks. The developer’s press service reported this achievement.
A dedicated working group focused on integrated and sustainable regional development conducted a comprehensive assessment of the project. The review covered water efficiency, energy performance, resource savings, and a range of other sustainability indicators.
The assessment noted an overall energy efficiency rating of 30 percent. In the official release, the project received 115 points from experts, placing the homes in the higher echelons of environmental friendliness at the gold level.
According to Donstroy, Ostrov blocks achieve an energy efficiency class of A and above, thanks to a set of modern technical solutions. The project is designed and built to meet the international environmental standard LEED, ensuring not only comfort but also the protection of existing ecosystems and their potential for future development.
The company explained that the development in the Mnevikov floodplain comprises ten business and premium-class blocks. The residences are positioned along the Moscow River and are adjacent to the Filevsky, Suvorovsky, and Krylatsky Hills parks, creating a green and scenic context.
A self-sustaining infrastructure is planned for the area, including four large social clusters. These clusters will host four schools with a total capacity of 2,700 students and six kindergartens capable of housing 1,000 children. The announcement also outlined planned kilometers of pathways for Nordic walking, jogging, and brisk walking along the project boundaries and adjacent nature zones, encouraging an active outdoor lifestyle.
Sports facilities are set to appear near the development, complementing the existing transit accessibility, with Terekhovo and Mnevniki metro stations already serving the site. The arrangement aims to support convenient and healthy living for residents while preserving the surrounding natural landscape.
To clarify the framework, Green Zoom provides a rating system for evaluating sustainability in construction. The system combines mandatory guidelines with criteria selected by the working group, and projects earn certificates on a level scale from bronze to platinum based on the total score attained. This approach helps stakeholders gauge environmental performance and community impact over time.
