According to the latest Dom.rf analytical report, Donstroy ranks among Russia’s leaders in green building, securing third place for its sustainability efforts. The developer is actively constructing 998 thousand square meters of residential space with energy efficiency class A and higher. Donstroy’s contemporary projects emphasize energy efficiency as a core design principle and as a measurable performance goal across all phases of development.
Analysts observe that today about 86 percent of Donstroy’s current development volume meets high energy efficiency standards. This translates to roughly 1.7 million square meters of real estate spread across 46 buildings, featuring 13,890 flats within noteworthy districts and projects including Island, Event, River, Symbol, and Heart of the Capital. The focus on green building is integrated into both the core housing stock and the surrounding urban fabric, illustrating a broad commitment to sustainable living.
The social infrastructure accompanying Donstroy’s communities also aligns with green construction principles. For instance, a new educational building for Bauman Engineering School No. 1580, planned to open this year within the Symbol residential complex, is designed to achieve an A energy efficiency rating. This example demonstrates how mixed-use developments can combine high-performance housing with top-tier educational facilities to create a greener, more self-contained urban environment.
Throughout the Ostrov project, the construction of a training center showcases the adoption of modern environmentally friendly technologies and engineering solutions. The project emphasizes efficient heating systems and advanced plumbing designed to optimize water flow, along with an energy-saving heat recovery system integrated into the building’s ventilation. The design includes draft-free fresh air delivery through air purification filters and a coordinated supply and exhaust ventilation strategy to maintain indoor air quality while conserving energy.
Donstroy notes that the green standards observed in its residential complexes have been repeatedly validated by both international and Russian environmental certifications. The company highlights notable achievements such as the Subbota and Olive House complexes earning Gold and Platinum certifications within the Green Zoom framework. In addition, the Life on Plyushchikha clubhouse achieved LEED certification, marking it as Russia’s first residential building to obtain this high-level international environmental standard. Dom na Tishinka has earned LEED GOLD status as well, underscoring the group’s commitment to globally recognized green building benchmarks.
Experts have also evaluated the landscaping work associated with Donstroy’s integrated development projects, noting that the surrounding green spaces and adjacent areas account for up to about sixty percent of the overall project footprint. This emphasis on landscape design reflects a broader strategy to create healthy, inviting outdoor environments that complement energy-efficient buildings and provide residents with substantial green amenities.
