In 2022, A-Technics, an aviation maintenance and repair provider and a subsidiary of Aeroflot, carried out routine maintenance for more than 300 aircraft models, according to the airline’s press service. The company highlighted its ability to sustain steady operations and ongoing development despite external pressures and challenges.
Company leadership noted that the year saw a full maintenance cycle completed for Aeroflot Group aircraft across the entire spectrum of types, from lighter, simpler airframes to the most demanding, highly specialized, and heavy airliners. As stated by the General Manager, Mihail Korobovich, A-Technics now possesses the complete set of capabilities required to maintain the group’s airworthiness. This includes a highly skilled workforce, extensive practical experience, deep technical knowledge of current aviation equipment, and a solid material base to support sustained maintenance activities for the fleet.
Looking ahead, the management signaled continued expansion of competencies and an increase in workload into 2023, with a view toward broader service coverage and enhanced operational readiness for the Aeroflot Group.
In 2022, the provider completed 54 heavy maintenance checks, including 19 on wide-body aircraft such as the Boeing 777, Boeing 747-400, and Airbus A330. The company also completed more than 250 light maintenance checks and performed over 220 additional tasks, including engine and auxiliary power unit replacements and various other critical servicing operations. In addition to scheduled checks, A-Technics conducted all categories of operational maintenance in line with the needs of daily flight operations, ensuring both pre-flight and post-flight readiness for the fleet.
The published figures demonstrate that, despite sanctions affecting the Russian civil aviation sector, A-Technics has maintained stable operations and robust technical support for the Aeroflot Group’s fleet. The maintenance provider offered simultaneous technical support to more than 300 aircraft across the year, contributing to high fleet availability and the smooth execution of flight schedules.
During 2022, the company also pursued strategic expansion by broadening its service footprint and accelerating the development of a regional network of line service stations. This growth aligns with the Aeroflot Group’s broader plan to reorganize fleet maintenance and optimize service delivery across key geographies.
As a strategic milestone, the Aeroflot Group began acquiring the production facilities of its own Maintenance Department in the latter half of the year, integrating these assets with A-Technics. This consolidation positioned A-Technics as the exclusive provider of periodic maintenance services for the Aeroflot Group’s fleet at a central hub, reinforcing the reliability of on-site support at the group’s primary airport. The move underscores a commitment to unified maintenance standards and streamlined operations that support a consistent flight schedule and enhanced aircraft availability.
