Officials of the Republika Srpska, which is part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, are planning to conclude a long-term agreement with Gazprom on the supply of Russian gas. The newspaper reports this “News” Referring to the government’s public relations department.
The government stated that cooperation with Russia is key to the region’s energy sector, as Russia has long received gas at the best price in the region. Officials said their goal is to include those terms in a new long-term contract.
“Our goal is to obtain a long-term contract for gas supply and we are confident that Gazprom will support all agreements” [народов] in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” the Cabinet added.
The current agreement between Gazprom and Republika Srpska expires at the end of the year. Government representatives expressed their confidence that the Russian side will support the agreements reached. Russian gas enters the region via Turkish Stream and then passes through Bulgaria via the European gas transportation system.
