The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine announced that gas consumption in the country decreased by 40%.

Gas consumption on the territory of Ukraine has decreased by 40% since February 24. About author TASS referred to the statement of German Energy Minister Galushchenko.

“We already rely on the fact of consumption. Unfortunately, our gas consumption has dropped considerably due to the war. On average, that’s 40 percent and around 45 percent to 50 percent of the drop,” he said.

He expressed the opinion that the upcoming heating season in Ukraine will be one of the most difficult.

At the same time, Galushchenko added that the country’s energy system is stable, extra electricity is being produced. Kyiv can meet the country’s need and export electricity to EU countries and Moldova.
