In June-August, the flow of Russian tourists to Thailand increased by 23% compared to last year, reaching about 222.3 thousand people. This is the most successful summer season in the history of Russian tourism in an Asian country, writes ATOR.
The most popular month for Russian travelers to travel to Thailand was July, with more than 83.4 thousand visits. August comes second with 76.9 thousand trips. In June, about 62 thousand Russians visited Thailand.
According to the results of the first eight months, a total of 1,081,247 Russian citizens visited Thailand, which is 17% higher than the result obtained in the same period in 2023.
Russia now completes Thailand’s top five entry markets. The leader is China. Tourist flows from China to Thailand totaled over 4.7 million trips between January and August. Malaysia came in second with 3.2 million visits. India and South Korea came in third and fourth with 1.4 and 1.3 million trips respectively.
