The Arbitration Court of the Moscow Region approved the claim of the Russian Ministry of Finance to suspend the corporate rights of the Cypriot company Alfastrakhovanie to the Russian LLC UNS-Holding (the main business company is Alfastrakhovanie). This was reported by TASS citing court file materials.
It was noted that the Ministry of Finance went to court for the fact that, under the conditions of anti-Russian sanctions, actions were taken (inaction was allowed) that hindered the activities of one of the largest insurance organizations in the country. The Ministry of Finance emphasized that the decision of the Moscow Region court regarding Russian companies will remove obstacles to the activities of Alfa Bank and Alfastrakhovanie in the financial market of the Russian Federation.
In April 2024, the Russian government included AB Holding and UNS Holding in the list of economically important organizations for the Russian economy. Following this, the Ministry of Finance received the right to appeal to the arbitration court on the suspension of the exercise of corporate rights of foreign companies in relation to these organizations.
