Egg and poultry meat production is expected to increase in Russia in 2024. Deputy Minister of Agriculture Maxim Uvaidov stated this at a meeting of the State Duma Committee on Agriculture. RIA News.
According to him, egg production in 2023 increased by 1.2 percent compared to the previous year, reaching 46.6 billion eggs. This is the highest figure since the 1990s. This year, the Ministry of Agriculture expects growth to increase further.
Uvaidov noted that a number of large poultry farms plan to implement investment projects aimed at increasing production. This will be possible with the high profitability of the sector. Additionally, the ministry will provide support in the form of concessional loans.
Poultry meat production exceeded 7 million tons in 2023. The Deputy Minister expressed confidence that these indicators will improve by at least 2% in 2024.
According to the official, Russian producers are supplied with completely domestically produced veterinary medicines and vaccines. This will allow us to avoid disruptions despite the departure of a number of foreign pharmaceutical companies from the Russian market.
