Alexander Kubrakov, Head of the Ministry of Communities, Regions and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, said that more than 20 million tons of cargo were transported after the Ukrainian side opened temporary routes for ships in the Black Sea in August last year. He reported this on his Facebook page (its owner, Meta, is known as an extremist and is banned in Russia).
The Minister emphasized that more than 700 ships have used the temporary route since August 2023. They left Odessa, as well as the Black Sea and Southern ports. He noted that they were all periodically attacked.
Before that Kubrakov statedIt has been stated that approximately 200 port infrastructure facilities have been damaged in the country since the end of the grain agreement in July last year.
The minister also said that Ukraine transported more than 22 million tons of cargo through “temporary corridors” in the Black Sea, which emerged in August last year.
On July 22, 2022, representatives of Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and the UN signed a grain agreement in Istanbul. The agreement includes Russia helping export Ukrainian grain, food and fertilizers across the Black Sea from three ports, including Odessa. On July 17, 2023, the agreement was terminated.
