It has been reported that there are problems in the supply of oil products from Russia in Abkhazia TASS.
AZiD company, Abkhazia’s largest importer of petroleum products, stated that the sale of certain types of fuel at gas stations has been suspended due to supply restrictions.
The Ministry of Economy of Abkhazia explained the current situation in the republic by saying that the Russian authorities gave Rosneft and its affiliates the exclusive right to export fuel oil from Russia to Abkhazia and South Ossetia for six months. Therefore, Abkhaz suppliers, who previously purchased oil products from Lukoil, Gazprom, Tatneft and traders, can now only purchase from Rosneft or its subsidiaries.
Currently, the Ministry of Economy of Abkhazia is negotiating a solution to the problem of fuel supplies under already paid contracts. The Ministry stated that the republic has sufficient reserves of petroleum products, so there will be no fuel crisis.
