Rosneft and the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) will expand cooperation in the field of training and retraining of personnel, scientific and innovative activities, as well as the development of the scientific and educational infrastructure of the university. According to the press service of the oil company, an agreement on cooperation in the field of education and science was signed between the parties within the framework of the Eastern Economic Forum.

The document was signed by Rosneft Chief Executive Igor Sechin and FEFU Rector Boris Korobets.

Rosneft states that projects at the intersection of science and business have been implemented at the university’s facilities for more than 10 years, and highly qualified specialists in fields relevant to the company have also been trained. Popular specializations include oil and gas engineering, chemical technology, power engineering and electrical engineering, process automation, mechanical engineering and shipbuilding.

As part of the creation of a comprehensive scientific and educational infrastructure on the basis of FEFU, Rosneft is creating a corporate competence center. It will consist of 18 classrooms, 3 common study areas, 12 laboratories and 2 basic departments.

The center will create educational laboratories on ship modelling, robotics, computer programming and design, as well as R/AR technology (augmented reality technology based on the superimposition of objects and elements from the virtual world onto real objects using a smartphone or tablet camera). design study work.

The first phase of the centre, the “Engineering” thematic module, has already been launched.

In addition, it is planned to implement advanced training and retraining programs for employees of coastal shipbuilding and ship repair enterprises on a center basis and to develop an additional training system.

Today, the university trains engineers in fields such as shipbuilding and ocean engineering, oil and gas engineering, chemical technology, energy engineering and electrical engineering, process automation and mechanical engineering.

Rosneft added that the university provides highly qualified personnel to the Zvezda shipbuilding complex, Russia’s most modern shipyard, and to the Far Eastern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center enterprises.
