Ukraine has managed to pump enough underground gas storage volumes to successfully pass the heating season. This was reported by TASS with reference to Alexei Chernyshov, head of Naftogaz.
According to him, 14.7 billion cubic meters of gas will be required in underground storage facilities for reliable heating in the winter of 2023. The volume of fuel injected to date is 14 billion cubic meters. Chernyshov did not rule out that at the beginning of the heating period the reserves would be more than necessary.
The head of Naftogaz emphasized that Ukraine will be able to supply its own gas entirely, as production will increase by 8% this year. Imports from neighboring countries will only be needed as a last resort to build up additional stock in emergencies.
