By August 15 this year, Russian sugar factories produced 147.2 thousand tons of sugar. This is almost twice as much compared to the same period last year. In this respect informs Soyuzrossahar.
This increase in production is due to the increase in the processing of sugar beet. If 1.3 million tons of beets were processed by mid-August last year, this year – already 1.4 million tons.
Currently, sugar beet is processed by 14 factories, one each in the Krasnodar Territory, Stavropol Territory and Tambov Territory. By the end of the week, 6 more enterprises are scheduled to start operating in the Central and Siberian Federal Districts.
According to the estimates of the International Sugar Organization, sugar production in Russia will reach 6.4 million tons by the end of 2023. This is 0.15 million tons more than last year. Thus, positive dynamics are preserved.
