“One of the promising regions is Vietnam, where coal imports are expected to increase to meet local industrial demand. According to the project, the country will import 50-83 million tons/year of coal in the 2025-2035 period.
May 18 Japanese Ministry of Finance trade statistics reportedThat in April 2023, Japan significantly reduced its purchase of coal and liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Russia. Compared to the same period of the previous year, Russian coal imports decreased by 80.8% and LNG – by 10.6%.
Prior to that, the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Harbin reported that in the first 40 days of 2023, China tripled its coal imports from Russia through the Zabaikalsk-Manchuria main border checkpoint.
Referring to the data received earlier, Kommersant wrote that the export prices of coal in Far East ports and the European side of Russia began to stabilize. The gap between thermal coal prices in Far Eastern ports and the European part of the Russian Federation is narrowing against the backdrop of falling coal prices in Asia.
