US Treasury imposes sanctions on Lukashenka’s presidential plane18:36

The US Treasury decided to sanction the Boeing 737 aircraft used by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko. This has been reported area ministries.

“The EW-001PA is a Boeing 737 owned by the Belarusian government and was used as a presidential aircraft by the US-sanctioned leader of Belarus, Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko,” the Ministry of Finance said in a press release.

According to the US Treasury, Lukashenko has “special access” to this and other “luxury” aircraft and uses them for personal travel. The ministry also said that the President of Belarus, along with his family and other accompanying persons, used the presidential plane for international travel.

The Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control left this Boeing 737 behind as a “blocked property and ownership interest” property that Lukashenka was interested in.

In addition to the aircraft, the USA introduced Sanctions against Belarusian companies BelAZ and MAZ, as well as natural and legal persons from Belarus.
