In the past month and until recently, a trend began to form in the Russian car market: Russians bought more and more cars every week. Moreover, this is happening against another trend, as it were: over the 7 months of 2022, the production of passenger cars in the country itself has fallen drastically. Analytical bureau “Avtostat” reports with reference to the data of JSC “PPK” that from September 19 to September 25, 10,798 cars were purchased.
That is 12% more than a week earlier, the source writes. A serious honor for this volume – more than 40% – naturally falls on the Lada brand, which also grew last week: 4464 units, a 13% increase compared to the previous week’s result. Chery, who is in second place, has much more modest volumes, but the growth figure for the week is impressive: 887 cars, plus 34%!
Kia remains in the top three (799 units; plus 6%), but Haval is not far off, albeit with a small drop in sales dynamics: 711 units, minus 3%. Close the Top 5 Hyundai: 700 cars sold, plus 16%. Each of the other remaining brands in the country sold fewer than 700 cars last week.
In terms of models, Lada Granta leads the way: dealers handed over 3,145 cars to customers last week, 15% more than a week earlier.
Chery Tiggo 7 Pro, taking the start, took second place: 607 cars, plus 51%. Also in the top five: Lada Niva Legend (515 units; +8%), Haval Jolion (442 units; -16%), Lada Niva Travel (289 units; +42%). It should be noted that over the past few days, the situation in Russia has changed significantly and these changes will certainly affect the car market.
