VW will bring factories closer to gas

The Volkswagen group has already started preparations for the relocation of factories from Germany, Slovakia and the Czech Republic to countries where no energy crisis is expected.

So far these are just plans, plan B, so to speak, in case the energy crisis in Europe worsens.

If the crisis lasts longer than half a year, car assembly can be moved to southern Europe, closer to the ports where tankers with gas and oil products arrive.

Such plans could cause social tensions in Germany, Slovakia and the Czech Republic even before the transfer of production. at companies vw hundreds of thousands of people work there —295,000 in Germany alone. They could all be unemployed. Some will be retrained and some will be fired.

Meanwhile, Volkswagen companies, as RG writes with reference to the words of Michael Heinemann, director of the VW power plant division, are implementing a strategy to reduce gas consumption.

At the same time, the group has a factory in Europe that has no energy problems. Located in the Kaluga region. The group also had a partnership with GAZ in Nizhny Novgorod.
