Informing the National Traffic Inspectorate about drivers’ illnesses is regulated by amendments to the Road Safety Act.
They are ready, approved by the government and will be submitted to the Duma shortly.
If accepted, they will become operational from March 1, 2023.
Today, the traffic police can not find out about a disease that suddenly appeared in a driver, with which one cannot drive, the traffic police can not find out – the information is only updated once every 10 years, when people change their rights and medical undergo investigations.
But in 10 years, a driver can do anything. The innovation assumes that doctors report identified diseases to the traffic police, RG writes. Simply put, it shares information from a single health information system.
A driver who runs the risk of losing his license as a result can undergo an extraordinary medical examination within two months and confirm his authorization to drive. If the disease is confirmed, the rights will be revoked.
