For the first time, the dates for the creation of two new models by AVTOVAZ were announced, about which information has appeared in large numbers in recent days. We are talking about a whole new family on the Renault CMF-B platform and a new crossover that will inherit the Lada Vesta cart. Denis Manturov outlined the timetable for putting these models into production during a meeting with journalists.
The model of the new Lada family of segment B will be at the end of 2024, the crossover based on the Vesta platform will be in 2025,” Denis Manturov, head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and chairman of the board of board of AvtoVAZ, quotes TASS.
The creation of two new models was approved at AVTOVAZ last week. Note that plans for the further development of the Vesta platform at AVTOVAZ were already built in the days of Renault, and now the new crossover, which has inherited the Vesta architecture, logically fits into the lineup instead of the discontinued Lada XRAY.
From the third generation Dacia Logan, the new Lada B-class will borrow the platform, but outwardly the Russian sedan (like the whole family) will be different
As for the Lada B class on the Renault CMF-B platform, work on it began again during the presidency of Nicolas Maur – he even got to see the first assembled prototype.
In the circumstances of the new reality, AvtoVAZ decided not to give up the plans and use the platform transferred from the previous partners. Lada B-class prototypes and bodies have been flashed more than once in spy photos and videos.
- In the hierarchy, the model will be half a step higher than Lada Granta.
- “Behind the wheel” can be read in Odnoklassniki.
