The Duma passed amendments to the law on traffic near border points in its first reading.
It should be noted right away that the changes were made to avoid queues at checkpoints.
Innovations should reduce queues, including trucks, speed up the delivery of goods and lower the costs of transport companies and private carriers.
How will the new law work?
The amendments adopted entitle the Government of the Russian Federation to change the organization of road transport at checkpoints across the state border of the Russian Federation.
In addition, it becomes possible to create an electronic queue at the border. At the same time, cars will no longer pile up on the road and transport companies will be able to plan the time cars travel through points in advance. Drivers can wait their turn in easier places.
The bill is part of a plan to ensure the development of the Russian economy despite sanctions.
