The ANCAP system extends to Australia and New Zealand, this crash test is in many ways similar to the well-known Euro NCAP and is considered quite severe. The car will be tested in four areas: adult passenger safety, child safety, pedestrian safety and active safety. The Chinese Cars source publishes the results of the Haval Jolion test, which is now the second most popular model in Russia after the Lada Granta.
Adult Passenger Safety – 5 Stars, 90% Possible Points
- frontal impact with full overlap – 7.34 points out of 8
- impact with 40% overlap – 6.69 points out of 8
- side kick – 4.96 out of 6
- side impact with a post – 6 points out of 6
- long side kick – 3.81 points out of 4
- front/rear whiplash protection – 2.98 out of 3 and 0.75 out of 1
- rescue and evacuation – 2 points out of 2
Child safety – 5 stars, 84% (on the 80% threshold)
- head-on collision -13.18 points out of 16
- child seat fasteners – 8 points out of 13
- side impact – 8 points out of 8
Pedestrian safety – 5 stars 64% (at 60% threshold)
- head protection (impact on hood) – 15.04 points out of 24
- thigh protection -1.61 points out of 6
- pedestrian recognition (forward) – 5.22 points out of 7
- pedestrian recognition (back) – 0.5 points at 2
- recognition of cyclists – 6.68 points out of 9
In active safety testing, the Jolion scored a solid 92%, achieving maximum scores for lane keeping, seat belt reminder, intersection assist and occupant monitoring. Only speed control and power steering turned out to be slightly worse. In any case, Haval has been more successful in ANCAP than Suzuki Jimny, Hyundai Palisade, Citroen C4, Jeep Wrangler and others.
