Investigators using this device charged drivers with drunk driving and asked them to negotiate at the scene. Bribe amounts ranged from 15 to 50 thousand rubles. The police detained one of the drivers after he contacted the FSB and handed over more than 25 thousand rubles to the traffic police under the control of the security forces.
It was revealed that traffic police officers concealed crimes by deleting the recordings on the DVR inside the official vehicle. The investigation managed to return some of the videos used as evidence of the investigators’ guilt. After the police detained them in 2021, the media reported that they bought gas stations by taking bribes from drivers. The court sentenced the traffic police officers to 3.5 to 4 years of compulsory labor, and all three of them will transfer 15 percent of their wages to the state.
