Cars got stuck under ice while crossing the Lena River in Yakutsk 17:39

Two cars crashed through the ice while crossing the Lena River in Yakutsk. In this respect reports public prosecutor’s office.

Video taken by an eyewitness to the incident published Telegram channel Mash. Toyota Ipsum and Mazda Bongo cars were driving at the crossing between the village of Nizhny Bestyakh and Yakutsk. At one point the ice could not support the weight of the cars and they began to sink. A few seconds before the cars plunged into the water, drivers and passengers got out. According to Mash, there were 4 people in both vehicles and all of these people were rescued.

The prosecutor’s office said that protocols were issued for the drivers of the vehicles because they entered the ice crossing without permission and did not comply with the conditions specified on the road signs. It is stated that going out on the ice before the official opening of the passes carries a fine of up to 5 thousand rubles for citizens and up to 1 million rubles for legal entities.
